Foyer of Aero Cinema, Prague (6. 1. 2020 - 31. 3. 2020) —
This selection is representing posters for the classic films of two of the greatest authors of the silver screen, Federico Fellini and Akira Kurosawa. This poster exhibition combines both domestic, which accompanied the famous films‘ screenings in our country, and foreign works.
Czechoslovak posters are represented not only by the works of well-known Czechoslovak poster designers, such as Bedřich Dlouhý and Zdeněk Ziegler (8 ½, Děrsu Uzala), but also by contemporary Czech artist Alžběta Skálová for Fellini’s famous The Road (La Strada). One can take a look at the creations of Polish Poster School in the works of Andrzej Pagowsky (Seven Samurai, Ran) and other authors. Remarkable is also an original Japanese poster for Kurosawa’s Throne of Blood and poster for Kagemusha film, designed by the director Akira Kurosawa himself.
The exhibitions being held in Aero, Oko and Světozor cinemas in 2020 are supported by the Prague’s
City Hall.
