Kino Světozor (1. 3. 2007 - 31. 3. 2007) —
The exhibition cycle „The Golden Era of Czechoslowakia Film Poster“ introduced poster work of Prof. Zdeněk Ziegler, one the most outstanding authors of Czech film posters. Mr Ziegler introduced the second exhibition of this cycle in person in March 2007.
Zdeněk Ziegler (born 17. 10. 1932) — The exhibition introduced his work from 1962 – 1989 in 35 displayed posters of A1 size and 20 posters of A3 size. His early works were represented by posters to the following films: Křik (1963), Přísně tajné (1963), Markéta Lazarová (1966), Spartakus (1966), Jules a Jim (1967), Pok kopyty stád (1968) and Psycho (1970). His work from the 70s and 80s was represented by Roma (1973), Půlnoční kovboj (1973), Tenkrát na západě (1987), Stopa růžového pantera (1985), West Side Story (1973), Modrá Electra Glide (1975) and Tarzan (1985).
Zdeněk Ziegler created 274 film posters within the period between 1962-1989. Not only this admirable high number but especially the persisting excellent quality of his works (which was not affected by the prevailing communist process of „normalization“) makes Zdeněk Ziegler one of the top finest authors of Czech film posters.
