- Born April 20th 1924 Prague, died September 5th 2003**
- Graphic designer, typographer. After high school graduation in Prague he studied art on Education college of Charles University in Prague from 1945 through 1949.
He dealt with book and advertisment design from 50s, in 1952 he was co-founder of group Stursa and in 1957 art group Maj.**
He cooperated on art design of czechoslovak pavilion EXPO 58 in Brusel, EXPO 67 in Montreal and EXPO 70 in Osaca. His contribution on info design had essential impact on visual form of czechoslovak public transport (Prague underground, Railway main station, Information system of Czech rail etc.) In 90s he worked mainly on information design, exhibitions, font and product design. He cooperate on many project with his wife Dora Novakova. He has worked on free art too. He was active member of art group Horizont, he created posters for, then member of association Typo&, SČUG Hollar and Association of aplied graphic in Prague. He´s author of several movie posters.
