Painter, illustrator, draughtsman, book designer, author of carvings and sculptures.
He had lived in Prague from 1929, during the second world war is employed in Josef Sudek´s studio; there he met is future wife, photographer Eva Fukova.
In 1951 was found unoffical grup of artist: Jiri Kolar, Zdenek Urbanek, Kamil Lhotak, Josef Schwarz, Jan Hanc, Emanuel Frynta, Jan Rychlik, Eva Fukova and Vladimir Fuka.
Secret meeting in flats, later in cafe Slavia. From early 50s Fuka had wrote art diaries, which reflect political and sociological news both local and worldwide. Next to freelance painting he dealt with book design and illustration from 1951, at most during 60s, and he obtained most important awards in this field for his works in Czechoslovakia or international. His Children encyclopedia (text by B. Riha) was published in several editions; till 5th re-edition (1978) when he was replaced by Jiri Kalousek.
